Hello again everyone.
In Session 3 we explored some strategies to help anchor our awareness in the present moment. We had a go at a Raisin Meditation (or Chocolate Meditation depending on your preferences). As we are discovering, tuning in to our sensations can be an effective method for grounding us in the here and now. We read through Rumi’s Guest House poem, which led us nicely into this theme of reflecting on moods as weather fronts - as guests that come & go; perhaps we can learn to invite them into our home with open arms. We ended with Tara Brach’s RAIN Meditation, which enabled us to dive deeper into whatever it was we were experiencing at that moment.
I am really looking forward to Session 4. We will be undertaking a Mountain Meditation - another strategy for building our emotional resilience.
